For larger projects we prefer to be embedded in the client team and define an ergonomics integration plan. Our user centred design process can be applied to all elements of the sociotechnical system, from high level feasibility, concept design and testing, detailed design, through to implementation and post occupancy assessment.

Workspace Assessments
HAM will apply their HUSI™ tool to your workspace project. The process starts with an initial baseline assessment to engage staff and capture performance shaping data. The HUSI™ will then be applied after go-live with new facilities to measure success.

Human-Machine Interface
Based on our site surveys and interaction analysis with proposed equipment and work systems, we can specify and test the human machine interface.

Environmental Guidance
A baseline assessment allows a critical review of your current workspace environment to define a brief for future improvements. We can work with your engineers to discuss key issues affecting staff comfort and performance, ensuring a new build or refurbishment does not have an environment that works against staff efficiency.

Workspace Design
New workspace options will be devised, based on your future operational concept. We will define the proposed human machine interface, establish the available compartment space and understand your team working interactions. Testing can then be carried out to determine the optimal solution within project constraints.

Ergonomic Interior Design
Interior design is deeper than a simple aesthetic. Colours and finishes have an impact on visual fatigue and contribute to staff mood, alertness and well being. We can create colour and finish board options that promote a suitable visual environment.

Testing with mock-ups
Testing concepts is critical and full scale mock-ups or scale models never fail to help deliver optimal solutions as staff can really try out options and understand how they will support team-working interactions.

Human Computer Interface
If you are changing your system interface, we can carry out expert usability testing and identify potential issues with efficiency, effectiveness and human error. The process can be started at procurement stages or used as a basis for testing the final configuration.
