User-Centred Design

Placing staff at the heart of the design process helps ensure solutions are truly fit for purpose. Being user-centred is a key principle of ergonomics, yet it is often overlooked and lacks sufficient attention on many projects.

User-Centred Design

Being user-centred also means considering human characteristics and thinking about the physical, cognitive and psychological limitations of users during the design process. Staff have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be used to optimise your future work system. Carefully involving users can also deliver buy-in and ownership for the new solution. This encourages a natural inclination to become a project promoter, with HAM able to manage large user groups, harness their knowledge, and help to agree suitable solutions within project constraints.
