Seating Selection: Analysis and selection process with staff.

  • 4 Weeks

About

Our seating selection process starts with a review of the current market and analysis of available seat models based on budgets and operational requirements. We will also audit your current seating against ergonomics standards and provide guidance on what could be kept depending on available budgets. The ergonomics check list we use is based on industry standards with over 20 independent anthropometric dimensions to check helping identify seating that should be taken forward to user testing. There are plenty of 'ergonomic' or '24 hour' seats on the market although many of these really do not provide the necessary adjustment range or features to support comfort and performance. There is also build quality to consider as any seat model needs to be robust enough to provide a suitable guarantee for your situation, especially if there is shift work to considers. Once we have agreed on the correct options, on-shift or focus group usability testing can be organised to engage with the staff group. We will then write up a summary report and recommend the correct mix of seats. Further work could be to provide expert training on setting up seating and deploy a great 'myth busting' service for user groups. There are plenty of bad practice arrangements that we can help deal with; for example, providing many staff with an individualised seat to support their particular musculoskeletal issues. This is often unnecessary and creates space problems with seating 'sitting' around doing nothing. *Terms and conditions apply. The fixed price will provide up to 10 staff surveys although this may not be enough depending on size and complexity of space. The fixed price survey could be applied to one area and then used as a model or further surveys could be run for an additional cost.
